No Easy Button

LORD, there is no “easy way” to this life.

Widow or not.

Sure seems a lot less “easy” since becoming a widow.

I cannot escape adversity.

Fears don’t go away.

Worries turn into burdens that weigh me down.

I’ve tried so hard to circumvent the hard times.

But I cannot.

Whether grief, or money, or health, or a hundred other hard moments – I cannot escape.

Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, LORD, I trust in YOU.”

LORD, when am I not afraid?

All these troubles, adversities, issues – whatever they are called – they show me one thing.

It’s too much for me.

I need YOU GOD . . . more.

Much more.

If this total dependence on YOU is where YOU want me – here I am.

Just as I am.

Whatever YOU want to do.

I know nothing, absolutely nothing, is too hard for YOU . . .

I just don’t know what YOU want to do!

Please DEAR GOD, Fight for me.

And help me to rest in the shadow of YOUR Almighty Presence.

: Job 5:6-7 – For affliction does not come from the dust, nor does trouble sprout from the ground, but man is born to trouble as the sparks fly upward.

  • LORD, help us please.

: Revelation 19:1-2 – After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for His judgments are true and just; for He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of His servants.”

  • LORD, I have to trust YOU . . . I am so afraid.

: Psalm 91:1 – He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

  • GOD, my Hope, and prayer.
