Heaviness of life

Published on 22 August 2024 at 09:28

LORD, life seems to be mostly questions without answers, or problems without immediate solutions.

Sure gets heavy to carry – like today.

YOU have told me to carry my cross daily – but YOU never said to carry tomorrow’s cross today, nor next week’s, or next year’s.

Just today’s – today.

And yet, to see my crosses all lined up, waiting to be carried – well, it’s overwhelming!

It’s hard to see today’s.

It’s hard to carry only today’s.

How do I see all of this from YOUR perspective?

How do I live this life today?

When Rick was alive, we would spend time each morning talking over the day – and our lives.

We would whittle things down to where we could get something accomplished that day.

Or on the days when the weight of it all was just too much – we would find some escape from it all, for the day.

Now, alone – GOD, I don’t know how to whittle it down into bites for the day.

And I sure don’t know how to escape from it all – without the guilt of losing a day.

GOD, please – help me face this day, and do it.

Teach me YOUR Way, YOUR perspective on it all.

Please, walk with me, and talk with me, through it.

GOD, I need YOU . . .

: II Corinthians 4:16-18 – So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things unseen are eternal.

  • Thank YOU GOD for this Promise. Thank YOU for something to hold on to.

: Psalm 89:15 – Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the Light of Your Face.

  • O LORD, may I walk in the Light of YOUR Face today.
