LORD, this life as a widow is filled with challenges and difficulties.
More than I had ever imagined, or had nightmares about.
Thank YOU for teaching me how to find Joy in the midst of it all.
Thank YOU for laughter.
Thank YOU for little secrets that YOU have hidden in my days, and help me to find.
A good cup of coffee.
A glorious sunrise or sunset.
The sound of birds singing.
The warmth of the sun on a cool morning.
The cool of the AC on a hot afternoon.
The drops of condensation on a cold glass of tea.
The laughter with a friend, a family member.
An unexpected phone call or message.
And a hundred other little things that mean so much big!
Most of all, Thank YOU GOD for YOUR Presence in my life.
I’ve always known that YOU are with me, but in these years of being a widow, even my humanity is coming to know YOUR Presence.
And while I would much rather have realized this without being a widow 😉
– I am still thankful to know it now.
I love YOU, GOD . . .
: Habakkuk 3:17-19 – Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take Joy in the God of my Salvation. God, the Lord, is my Strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.
- Long one of my favorite Promises. Thank YOU GOD . . . Even if . . . YOU are still GOD . . . and YOU are still good. And I will still love YOU . . .
: I Chronicles 16:27 – Splendor and Majesty are before Him; Strength and Joy are in His place.
- YOU are worthy of all praise, worship, honor and glory . . .
