Just to rest

LORD, help me to REST in YOU . . .

Just to be still, be quiet – that I may know YOU . . . just as YOU are.

Not feeling worthy of love goes back a long way in my life.

Something I have fought every day – before Rick, with my parents.

With Rick himself.

And since Rick died – with the kids, the grandkids, other family, friends.

Always feeling like I have to work to be loved.

To be accepted.

And always, always, falling short.

YOUR Love is boundless and unconditional.

I don’t have to work for YOUR Love – but how do I stop?

How do I REST?

How do I just be still, and be quiet?

Teach me how to be in YOUR Presence – joyfully and confidently.

Help me to know YOUR Love, YOUR Peace, YOUR Grace and Mercy.

: John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

  • Thank YOU JESUS, for doing just this.

: II Corinthians 5:21 – For our sake He made Him to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the Righteousness of God.

  • Thank YOU GOD . . . please, help me do what YOU have planned for me to do, and to be.

: Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One Who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His Love; He will exult over you with loud singing.

  • One of my favorite verses in the Bible. Thank YOU GOD . . .

: Numbers 6:24-26 – The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His Face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His Countenance upon you and give you Peace.

  • Thank YOU GOD . . . I pray this over Israel, over me, over our kids, our grandkids, our great-grandkids, and all those entwined with us.
