My smaller circle

LORD, my circle of people seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

The farther I go on this road as a widow, the smaller the circles show themselves.

Coming from a large family on both Rick’s side and mine, with all the years of co-workers, church go-ers, neighbors, friends and acquaintances – it’s hard sometimes to sit here and be able to count on ONE hand those I can call any time of day or night.

Or to see the hundreds of “friends” I have on social media – but see so very few that I feel the connection with to message.

Then to think back over the years – how busy our house always was, like a grand central station.

To remember times where we were rarely home because of events that we were going to, or involved in.

And now.

Hours upon hours where the only voice besides mine that I hear is on a TV show or movie that I am watching, or that is playing in the background while I figure out what to fill my time with.

Days that I go without seeing another face.

How many times have I scrolled through the contacts in my phone, or in my Messenger list, and honestly didn’t find anyone to push the button.

It’s different GOD.

Such a different life these days as a widow.

It has brought me to a stronger and deeper dependence on YOU, so it can’t be all bad 😉.

YOU are what my soul and heart desire.

YOU are my Sustenance.

LORD, I pray to find my completeness, as a widow, in YOU.

And I ask that YOU will find a way to use me in the lives of others.

Where YOUR Light, the Light of Who YOU really are, shines brightly in their darkness.

In JESUS’ NAME I ask . . .

: Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

  • LORD, please find a way to grow and establish these fruits in me. And to feed others as needed.

: II Corinthians 12:9 – But He said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for My Power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the Power of Christ may rest upon me.

  • Thank YOU, GOD, for YOUR Amazing Grace. I am learning that truly It IS sufficient.

: I John 4:12 – No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and His Love is perfected in us.

  • LORD, teach me how to Love like YOU do.
