Time

LORD, time means nothing to YOU.

A thousand years is as a day.

To me, time seems to mean just about everything.

And yet, nothing.

It either drags – the night darkness, the storms that rage, when I don’t feel good, when the grief overwhelms me, when problems and trials are screaming at me . . . and so many more.

Time either seems to drag or stand still.

Or it flies – watching the kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, more from afar than close up.

As they grow and change.

As they spread their wings.

As they deal with their own lives.

As it seems I am more on the outside looking in – just watching.

There’s either too much time, or not enough.

Sigh.

LORD, help me to create that safe space around me – no matter the time – to where I rest with YOU . . . where there is focused attention on worshipping YOU, crying out to YOU, and listening to what YOU say.

LORD, it seems more and more that all I have is time.

And mostly, time alone.

My times are YOURS . . .

: Psalm 119:27 – Make me understand the way of Your precepts, and I will meditate on Your wondrous works.

  • Please DEAR GOD, please . . .

: II Chronicles 16:9 – For the Eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.

  • FATHER, forgive me for doing foolishly in the past. I pray to not do so again. LORD, please – help me.

: Hebrews 13:5 – Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

  • Teach me YOUR Way, O LORD . . . please.
