Shadows of my past

LORD, there is much that weighs heavily on my heart, mind and soul this morning.

Mistakes and missteps.

Choices and decisions.

Realizations that no one has ever “made” me do, say, think, or even feel, anything.

My past shadows loom large over this day.

Regrets, sorrows and shames.

More times than not, I find myself pretty much immobilized – simply because I don’t want to screw up all over again.

Doing nothing seems wrong.

Doing anything seems not right.

As Paul said, “what a wretched one that I am!”

GOD, help me trust YOU . . .

YOU see, YOU hear, YOU know.

Past, present, and future.

LORD, help me be tuned in to YOU – plugged in.

Trust YOU when I am afraid, LORD.

And let YOU be YOU in my life.

I need YOUR Peace, and YOUR Light.

GOD, I need YOU . . .

: I John 1:7 – But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

  • All I can do is Trust in YOU, LORD . . .

: Isaiah 61:10 – I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of Salvation; He has covered me with the Robe of Righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

  • YOU have done this. Please help me to accept it.

: John 8:12 – Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I AM the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life.”

  • It is YOU GOD, all YOU . . .
