LORD our GOD, it is so easy to think about the things that would make me feel more secure, or more at ease.
To have the answers to life’s problems, or to have just a few easier troubles.
When I look at my to-do list, or I consider my troubles and problems, and I think about all the questions in my life – I am overwhelmed, overloaded, and more frustrated than I have words to explain.
When I think about the struggles and trials that my loved ones are going through, I am afraid for them – often more afraid for their mental and emotional state than for their physical or financial well-being.
Again, overwhelmed knowing that I can’t fix for them.
I try to figure things out.
But for every step forward I take, it seems there are at least 2 more to take.
The mountain keeps moving.
And I can’t get there to even attempt to climb it.
I try to help others.
But for every ounce of my strength, or every dollar given, there is more screaming to be done or paid.
So much so that I can’t rest, and I can’t get ahead.
GOD, there has got to be a better way.
YOU . . .
YOUR Presence.
The Bible tells me that the Presence of the LORD brings fullness of joy.
The Joy of the LORD is my Strength.
I can do all things through CHRIST Who gives me strength.
And that YOU will keep in Perfect Peace the one whose mind is stayed on YOU . . .
The Bible also tells me that YOU LORD, inhabit the praises of YOUR people.
So it all starts with praise.
And life being what it is – and me being me – praise is a sacrifice at this point.
It’s not easy.
It costs something from me to give it, to do it.
GOD, praising YOU is my heart’s desire.
Will YOU accept what I can give?
What I can do?
Even if life is heavy?
: Hebrews 3:1-2 – Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Who was faithful to Him Who appointed Him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house.
- LORD, help me to be faithful to YOU . . . more like JESUS, and less like me.
: Isaiah 26:3-4 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an Everlasting Rock.
- LORD, I trust in YOU – even when I am afraid.
: II Corinthians 4:17-18 – for this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
- LORD, help me to see with these eyes.
