My mind . . . ugh.

Published on 19 August 2024 at 09:55

LORD, I need YOU, I want YOU, to take control of my mind.

I don’t know how.

I don’t know how to take every thought captive to the obedience of CHRIST.

My mind – well, it has a mind of its own!

It’s stubborn and rebellious.

It argues and fights.

Please GOD, help me.

Teach me how to be open to YOUR Presence with me – and how to keep my mind on YOU.

YOU have Promised Peace.

LORD, I need this Peace.

: Psalm 8:5 – Yet You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.

  • LORD, help me to use my free-will as it should be. To walk and talk with YOU . . .

: Genesis 1:26-27 – Then God said, “Let us make man in Our Image, after Our Likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His Own Image, in the Image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

  • LORD, please. Make me more like JESUS, and less like me. A whole lot less like me.

: Romans 8:6 – For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is Life and Peace.

  • LORD, I need YOUR Peace.

: Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect Peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

  • LORD, when I am afraid, I trust in YOU . . . Psalm 56:3

I took this picture several years ago.

It is a bridge in Kentucky.

The time there was a major mistake in my life.

But this picture spoke to me of

Love,

Forgiveness,

and Grace.
