LORD, the foes that surround me, the waves of adversity that roll over me, the enemy that attacks without mercy or care – it’s all more than I can handle! Psalm 131
It would be so easy to give up, to curl up in my recliner, cover with my blanket and just stay.
But the day calls to be faced, life calls to be lived.
Please, Help me to not give up.
Please, Help me keep my eyes on YOU.
Please, Hold to my hand.
I remember telling our kids to hold my hand, but knowing their attention spans π I would be sure to hold to their hand, so that if their grasp loosened – mine did not.
LORD, Hold to my hand.
Tomorrow is a vortex of emotions, worries and troubles.
But tomorrow isn’t today.
Please, Help me leave tomorrow where it is – in the future.
Please, Help me live today.
And in living this day – to just breathe my way through.
Trusting YOU, LORD, with all my heart – past, present and future.
Leaning not on my own understanding – my understanding is like trying to smell the color 9!
In all my ways, acknowledging YOU.
YOU will surely order my steps and direct my paths.
YOU have promised.
And YOU are Forever the Faithful One.
Even if . . . YOU are still GOD . . . YOU are still GOOD . . .
: Psalm 73:23-24 – Nevertheless, I AM continually with you; YOU hold my right hand. YOU guide me with YOUR Counsel, and afterward YOU will receive me to glory.
- Thank YOU GOD . . . When I am afraid, LORD, I trust in YOU – it’s all I can do, it’s what I must do.
: I Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is Faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- LORD, please, open my eyes to see that way of escape, time after time. Grant me the courage with strength and determination to take that way of escape, too.
: Hebrews 3:13 – But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
- LORD, help me TODAY.
