GOD, I know that YOU are GOD of my life, GOD of all.
I have to believe that YOU are in control of my life, and that nothing is greater than YOU.
Not even me with my mistakes and missteps.
That YOU can, YOU are, YOU will, take all things and work them together for my good, and for YOUR Glory.
This high road that we are taking, there are dips and curves, and it doesn’t always feel like “the high road”. There are moments where I can see a little ways ahead, and even sometimes when I can see far off into the distance.
Mostly, especially lately and even now?
I can’t even see the very next step.
GOD, how can I follow YOU when I don’t see the next step?
Yes, shortcuts would be good – sometimes.
But then, in real life I have learned that the shortest way is not always the best way.
There is much to see and to experience on those longer ways 😊
It’s easy to get flustered when things go wrong, those monkey wrenches that get thrown against me.
When others make choices and decisions that literally put me into a corner.
When I sit there in that corner trying to decide whether I cower and wait it out, or do I rise up and fight?
Please GOD, whatever this day is – YOU are already there.
Take me by the hand and walk with me, talk with me – every step.
Every move I make. Every breath I take.
Please.
: John 21:19 – (This He said to show by what kind of death He was to glorify God.) And after saying this He said to him, “Follow Me.”
- How do I follow YOU today?
: II Corinthians 4:17-18 – For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
- GOD, help me with my humanity, please . . .
: Habakkuk 3:17-19 – Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the God of my Salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.
- Even if. YOU are still GOD. YOU are still good.
